Letters of Recommendation
Over the course of my more than twenty years in the practice of law, I have been involved in numerous settlement conferences and mediations through private mediation firms and the courts. I was recently involved in a mediation with Ted Sherwood. The litigation had many complex facets and appeared destined for trial.
Ultimately, the case settled, due in no small part to the insightful and dedicated work of the mediator, Ted Sherwood. Although our initial mediation proved unsuccessful, Mr. Sherwood continued a dialogue between the parties following the mediation. Mr. Sherwood's efforts resulted in three separate settlement agreements through which the entire litigation was resolved through separate agreements.
I believe most mediators and firms would have simply conducted the initial mediation and left the parties on course for trial. Mr. Sherwood's ongoing work and insightfulness ultimately resulted in a successful conclusion of the case without a long and protracted trial. I wholeheartedly recommend the mediation services of Mr. Sherwood.

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your mediation services. You did an outstanding job at dealing with difficult parties. I enjoyed working with you and look forward to doing so again in the future.

Thanks so much for successfully mediating my recent case involving faulty workmanship and a construction contract dispute. Your many years of experience in that area were invaluable both to my clients, and also in dealing with the construction contractor on the other side. You were able to communicate in practical, real world terms the major issues, risks, and pitfalls to my clients, were served to confirm the discussions I had already had - it's great for clients to hear the same thing from different people. I also appreciate the time you took to really question my clients in detail. This allowed you to really be able to mediate effectively, and also for me to see how the clients would respond to a 3rd party questioning them.
We also greatly appreciate your being able to get a tough construction contractor to cough up a reasonable sum of money to settle the case. I know that doesn't happen very often. Thanks so much. It was a pleasure working with you, and I look forward to working with you again should the opportunity arise.

Ted recently handled a very contentious personal injury mediation for our office. He was able to close a gap of several hundred thousand dollars in a case which had been mediated once already. I think that Ted's experience, particularly from the plaintiff's perspective, gave him instant credibility with both sides when he evaluated the case. There is no substitute for having been there, done that, when it comes to helping both sides see their case from a different angle. I wholeheartedly recommend Ted for the tough case that needs to be settled.
