Federal Safety Board Moves to Ban Texting While Driving

CNN reported that the National Transportation Safety Board called for a nationwide ban on the use of cell phones and text messaging devices while driving. Over 3,092 fatalities were associated with distracted driving last year.

Driving while texting struck close to home last night.

A 42 year-old Marland women lost control of her car and crossed the center line on U.S. 177 in Noble County, Oklahoma. She was killed in the accident. Accordng to the Tulsa World, Highway Patrol Troopers believe the woman was texting at the time. Read full article here.

I cannot say that I have never texted while driving, but given the risk involved it is an unsafe practice that I will avoid in the future.
